Officially Licensed Sports Collectibles and Merchandise

On the Boulevard to the Super Bowl

It started out as a snap--at the opening of the period, everyone knew that the New England Patriots would possibly end up winning the Super Bowl. Yes, the Philadelphia Eagles may be a threat, but they get to the Championship game and back out. But something different happened this year...

The Eagles actually made it to the Super Bowl. For Eagles devotees, this was certainly a development. after years of making an effort, they finally obtained their mission of getting to the Super Bowl. If you make a home anywhere near Philadelphia, you would concur that fan-damonium broadened to a new level. Everywhere you look, all you could find was Eagles merchandise. Fans embellished their cars to the nines with Eagles license plates, tire covers, mud flaps, flags--you name it. Fans even garnished their places with NFL merchandise and incredible inflated Donovan McNabb lawn ornaments.

Patriots fans did the very same. They got prepared for the huge game in style, because in their mind, they knew the Patriots would win. For their Super Bowl gathering, they located New England Patriots snack helmets, Patriots helmet plaques, and flags. Admirers even dressed their children in youth uniforms of their beloved team.

But, wait! There were more contenders in the course to the Super Bowl. The Pittsburgh Steelers had a decent season with their new and powerful quarterback. Patriots fans understood that they would have to conquer the Steelers in the Super Bowl, but they dropped out in the Championship game. This was, as predicted, a major defeat for the Steelers devotees. They are hard core devotees, and are true NFL memorabilia collectors. They await patiently for their team to boost yet again, but in the interim, they sport their Steelers hard hats with pride.

The other team that was a direct menace was the Atlanta Falcons. Not only did they have intimidating defense, but they had great receivers to take them to the top. No one guessed the Falcons to go as far as they did, even their fans. As the NFC Championship game drew closer, Falcons fans did anything they could to boost their team. They picked up a NFL merchandise they could get and located football fan faces to use instead of messy paint to cheer on their team. They made anything and everything with the Falcons name or team logo into a treasured sports collectible. But, the Falcons fell in the Championship game.

When it came down to the two best teams in the NFL, the fans cheered and the football flew but only one team could take it all. Patriots fans left the game happy, but the Eagles fans were plotting their revenge for the next season. In the end, the players in the NFL are important, but the fans are what carry the power and support for their team. Fans show their support in many ways, but most treasure their NFL sports Memorabilia above all.

Safety and Comfort Before You Fly

Making it to the airport for a departure time in the middle of the afternoon is fairly easy, especially for those lucky enough to live in the vicinity of a major airport. But what if your flight is early in the morning? Getting to check-in 2 hours before takeoff usually means a very early start, which fuels fears that you might not wake up in time and almost guarantees that you will be driving tired to your flight and starting your holiday on the wrong foot.

UK government driving safety sites like www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk warn that tiredness, along with drink-driving and answering a mobile behind the wheel, is responsible for numerous accidents across the country every year. Add rushing to tiredness and you have a recipe for possible holiday disaster.

An alternative ensuring you dont have to go through this rigmarole is a stay an airport hotel the night before flying. An overnight stay at an airport hotel will guarantee you avoid all the usual rushing around. Now it is also possible to include cut-price airport parking in an accommodation package, something most flyers would have to pay for anyway.

Visit airport-hotel-discounts for a broad range of different accommodation options in and around many of the UKs major airports, including at Heathrow. Long-stay airport parking can be optionally included in the package. To get a quick quote online, simply enter the necessary details of your travel itinerary including the point of departure and the date you wish to find a hotel.

within the vicinity of Heathrow, there are more than 20 different options available starting at low prices. The airport parking option usually means choosing from a one or two-week stay for your vehicle. In most cases, you can check-in to your airport hotel after 14:00 the day before you fly, meaning you will have a whole afternoon and evening to relax and enjoy the facilities.

At the four-star Heathrow hilton, for instance, take advantage of the swimming pool and leisure centre before heading to one of the restaurants on-site prior to a good nights sleep knowing that everything is ready for your holiday. In fact, your holiday will have already begun before you even receive the hotel wake-up call. Your car will already be securely parked waiting for your return, allowing you to walk to the terminal for your flight.

If you decide you dont need a bed for the night, it is still possible to arrange airport parking over the internet at discounted rates. Go to save-on-parking and you can save up to 30 per cent on parking rates at Heathrow compared to what you would be charged upon arrival.

one of the most convenient airport parking services out there is the meet and greet service in which a representative of the parking company will collect your vehicle as you arrive at Departures, take it to a space and then return it to you on cue when you touch down again.

By confirming the details of your trip online, you can pay for your airport parking by credit card rather than rummaging around for the correct change when you get to the terminal, meaning youll have another little detail of your trip prearranged before you even leave home.

Andy Burrows used Heathrow airport many times and he loves to stay overnight in a Heathrow airport Hotel as he likes to arrive at the airport as fit as possible, he highly recommends: ://www.airport-hotel-discounts.co.uk/heathrow_hotels.htm and http://www.save-on-parking.co.uk/

What Is A Chip Shot And A Pitch Shot In Golf

There are two common short game shots that are used at every hole. If you want to succeed at learning to play golf and becoming a better player, it is essential that you learn how to chip and pitch great shots. Doing so will help you make up for getting inaccurate balls off of the tee and on the green.

In order to score well you must learn these important short game and to recover from off-target shots. In other words, great recovery shots are the result of well-made chip and pitch hits.

No matter how accurate and far you are able to hit the ball from the tee, without having skill at your short game, you will not enjoy the feeling of lowering your scores. It becomes a huge disadvantage. Your short game is what matters most. By having a decent chip or pitch, you can dominate the scoring zone (a 6' circle around the hole).

What Is The Difference Between The Chip & Pitch?

When playing golf, each game will be different and you may not always hit the ball onto the green with the standard amount of shots taken. many times your ball will land somewhere within the range of a short iron shot from the green. this is the time when you have to decide if it is best to shoot a chip, or a pitch.

The Chip Shot: A chip shot is made when your ball lands within 5 to 10 feet from the putting surface. Basically, it is any shot that you make which is close to the green. Your goal when making a chip shot is simply to lag the ball as close to the hole as possible so that you have a very easy putt to make. Properly executed, a chip shot may go airborne for a very short distance, and lands on the green, rolling slowly towards the hole.

The Pitch Shot: A pitch shot is made when the ball is hit much further from the green. Although the chip and the pitch are hit from different distances, the objective is the same: you want your pitch shot to snuggle up as close to the hole as possible so that your next putt can be made easily from a short distance of just the few feet or less.

Pitch shots also come in handy when you must send the ball airborne over a hazard area or any other obstacle. The pitch will become airborne longer and hire than a chip shot, with a bit more backspin.

Tips for the Fairway Bunker

If your golf shot landed in the bunker, the next shot depends on the lie that you have in that bunker. If the lie is bad or rather, the ball is buried, then you will need a higher lofted club such as the 7-iron to the sand wedge to get the ball out. In such cases, it is advisable to get the ball back into play and approach from there.

However, if you have a good lie in the bunker, there are choices for you. If you are not comfortable, you can opt to play safe and just take a lofted club to get the ball back onto the fairway and play from there. The other choice is to go for the green from the bunker. this is possible since you have a good lie.

Longer irons, just as the 3, 4 or 5 irons can be used for situation where you have a good lie in the fairway bunkers. A lofted wood can also be used in place of the longer irons. A 5 or 7 wood is also playable. There are a couple of things to note when playing this shot. It may be slightly different from playing a greenside bunker shot.

  1. Take a wider stance for stability.
  2. Work your feet into the sand for better balance. You dont want to be sliding around.
  3. play the ball slightly back in the stance than normal. Bear in mind that this shot requires the golf club contact first with the ball before the sand.
  4. Choke down on the shaft of your golf club of choice. this is to compensate the digging inof the feet into the sand.
  5. Aim slightly to the left of target.
  6. Swing normal.. Do not rush and do not try to hit too hard. Swing normal
  7. Follow through the shot. Do not stop at impact.
  8. Pray (just kidding)
practice and I am sure you will get to the green from the fairway bunkers

Lawn Sprinklers - How Often Do You Need To Water?

One of the biggest issues in using lawn sprinklers is also one of the most obvious. How often do you need to water your yard? How do you know, other than seeing the grass turn brown? There are several key factors that go into knowing how often to water your lawn. Here are some quick tips to help you in knowing how often to water.

1. Your Grass

The type of grass your lawn has will be one big factor in knowing how often to turn on the lawn sprinkler. Grasses such as bermuda or other hot weather grasses will not require as much watering as cool weather grass like bluegrass. Although I must say that this is not always the case with every type of grass. You need to know what type of grass you have and then asses what its watering needs require.

2. Your ground

The type of soil in your yard is another important point. Sandy soil will require you to water the grass more often than clay soil.

Sand allows water to quickly soak through, whereas clay will hold in the moisture much longer.

3. sun Or Shade

Does your lawn get plenty of shade from tall trees or does it sit in full sunlight all day? This will certainly determine how frequently you'll need to water.

4. Mowing

How short do you mow your lawn? If you cut your grass short then you will need to water more often.

5. weather

This is perhaps the biggest factor in determining how often to water your grass. The hotter the weather the more often grass will need watering.

Also, windy and less humid areas will need more frequent watering as well. Of course, if you happen to be in an area which sees a lot of rainfall you won't have to water as often either.
